Mr. Cullotta was a career criminal who started out on the streets of Chicago and became a trusted lieutenant in Tony Spilotro's gang of organized lawbreakers in Las Vegas. He lived in a world full of high-profile heists, street muscle, and information about many of the FBI's most wanted. He eventually turned government witness and became one of a handful of mob insiders to enter the Witness Protection Program.

as well as the film Casino, in which Mr. Cullotta is renamed "Frank Marino" and portrayed by actor Frank Vincent. Mr. Cullotta was hired as a technical advisor for the movie and played the role of a hitman who carries out several murders, one of which is similar to the 1979 murder of Sherwin Lisner.
