09-05: Author T.R. Heinan & America's First Female Serial Killer

The Wise Guys interview author T.R.Heinan and learn more about his book L'IMMORTALITE: Madame Lalaurie and the Voodoo Queen inspired by the true story of Delphine Lalaurie, the first American female serial killer. The book offers a fine gumbo of horror and history, comedic characters and conflicted spirituality, and serves it up Cajun style in the attic of the Lalaurie Mansion, New Orleans' most haunted house.

L'IMMORTALITE: Madame Lalaurie and the Voodoo Queen is based on the true story of the fire at the Lalaurie House that led to the discovery of New Orleans' most horrifying crime, an event that has generated legends of terror for almost two centuries. The tumultuous events of the 1830s, the lives of two powerful women and the ghosts of a dozen characters torn from the pages of New Orleans history and the Lalaurie legend all come vividly to life in L'IMMORTALITE.

Some of the L'Immortalite characters are featured in the upcoming season of FX network's smash hit series American Horror Story that premieres next month.
